My Favourite YouTube Channels

If you didn’t know already, I love watching YouTube. I love it so much that I have a strong desire to create YouTube videos myself. Plus, sharing YouTube videos genuinely makes me so happy. It gives me a chance to practice video editing, to create beautiful motion graphics and to express an idea with the world. I love the process of sitting in unique coffee shops in Toronto and writing blog posts that could turn into inspiring YouTube videos. Over the years I have been conflicted about what type of videos I should create on YouTube. I created a channel called BecomingTia and my first instinct was to make that channel about God, personal development, cosplay, and DIYs. Over time, this channel warped into only cosplay, convention tips, and personal development. And recently – this year – this channel entered the cosplay and convention niche scene. My soul felt conflicted…

Anime North 2017 – Convention Review

Anime North was special this year. It transfixed us and left us excited enough to return next year. In the past, I encountered rude volunteers, sweltered in hot weather, and hung around the wrong people. This year, I learned something new. I learned that convention staff do listen to feedback. Problems that you’ve encountered in the past can be fixed. I learned that who you hang out with at a convention can change your entire experience for better or worse. If you do go alone, attend events to meet people who like the same things as you. Be around positive people. If you’re around negative people, it will suck the life out of you. That’s why you need a supporting friend or group of people at…

I Met Sarah J Maas at the Indigo Sherway Gardens Book Signing

On May 21, 2017, I went to Indigo CF Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke, Ontario to meet Sarah J. Maas – the author of the Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses series. When I saw that this incredible writer was coming to Toronto, I crossed the 21st off on my calendar with the goal of meeting her face to face, and that is exactly what I did. Waiting in Line My first impression as I walked towards the (long) 7:00 AM book signing line was, “Wow! This line is so well organized.”I was worried that I would have to Game of Thrones and fight my way through the entrance as soon as the bookstore opened in order to get a golden ticket to meet Sarah J. Maas. Instead, I calmly walked towards the back of the line around 7:00 AM and an Indigo employee cheerily gave me my golden ticket for being within the 250 maximum. My friend, Elora and I…

Bunner’s Bakery – Fresh Vegan & Gluten Free Baked Goods

It has been more than a year since I’ve gone to Bunner’s Bakery in Spring 2016. I’ve been meaning to write a review on this quaint vegan and gluten-free bakery, but my blogging procrastination has held me back. In short, Bunner’s Bakery is an easy 7/10. Yummy and sweet. Make sure to come as soon as they open, since they have fewer items available towards the end of the day. Bunner’s Bakery Location and Best Time to Eat Bunner’s Bakery lives in the heart of Kensington Market in Downtown, Toronto. As soon as you enter the shop, you’re greeted with a cute sign showcasing their newest treat ready to meet the mouths of loyal and new customers. Chalkboard Menu at Bunner’s Bakery While you wait in line you can view a chalkboard menu and easily see the prices of baked goods. Isn’t this wall cute? Totally, Instagram-worthy. What’s in Store…
